New Nada Surf: "I Like What You Say"
Wow, two Nada Surf mentions in one week for me, that's some kind of record. Following hot on the heels of the lovely Beatles cover by the shimmering indie-rock New York trio, we have a new song as well.This is from the upcoming soundtrack of Ashanti's new movie (meaning: listen to this song now because, seriously, how many of you are actually gonna go see Ashanti in the theaters?) John Tucker Must Die. The soundtrack also includes People in Planes, OK Go (covering The Zombies' "This Will Be Our Year"), All-American Rejects, Ben Lee (with his grand little "Float On" cover), and The Caesars.

By the way, Ashanti's character in the movie is named Heather. Represent.

Ben Lee's "Float On" cover is awful.
However, I did make the mistake of listning to the Kidz Bop version yesterday, so...at least his isn't scary.

OK GO's "This Will Be Our Year" cover was out in 2004... I like it better than the original.

ok this is driving me crazy cuz i recently saw john tucker must die and when i heard "i like what you say" i totally thought it was butterfly boucher singing it. then i went and downloaded the song and in the beginning it sounds like nada surf, but then when it gets to the chorus it sounds like a collaboration of both nada and butterfly. is it just me or is it a collaboration??
ok so this is driving me insane cuz i just saw john tucker must die and when they played "i like what you say" i could have sworn it was butterfly boucher, but when i downloaded it the song starts out sounding like nada surf and then when it hits the chorus it sounds like a collaboration between nada and butterfly. is it just me??
