Let's listen to a little Cardinology (Ryan Adams)

My friend Tom, who is awesome, went on a scavenger hunt and dug up some live versions of new Ryan Adams & The Cardinals songs that are showing up on the tracklist for Cardinology (due out October 28 on Lost Highway). I've added to it, let's have a listen! Shocking, it's a little jammy.

Greatness!

It's been said a million times but ever since sobriety kicked in, Ryan has sounded amazing. The songs, his voice, it's been quite a leap forward for him. He was great before but now, he's really hitting a stride.

I agree with the comments....but, I really miss his kick ass rockin style of the early days. I'm not saying I dislike his music now because I love it. But the last couple of shows compared to the first couple are very different. I know he quit drinking and doin the drugs. But drink a Red Bull and flip out again. He still sounded amazing and it wasn't like he was turning 100% jam band on us live.

I can't say that sobriety has helped Ryan. Easy Tiger has couple of good songs, and a handful of decent songs. I'd like to see him come somewhere near the sheer brilliance of Cold Roses. I heard Tom Schick produced Cardinology. If that's true, I'm optimistic. Easy Tiger was disturbingly over-produced.

Thanks for the links.
