Album/label/tour news from The Faint

In yesterday's post I mentioned Saddle Creek as being the home of danse-macabre band The Faint, and as I typed that sentence, I wondered what was going on with their punk new-wave selves.

Turns out that the news today is that they've actually left Saddle Creek to form their own label called blank.wav, and that they'll have a new record coming out August 5th called Fasciinatiion (with that many "i"s). If you wonder to yourself why this is anticipated news 'round these parts, please check a few of my favorite tunes that The Faint have had their hands into these past few years:

Posed to Death - The Faint (love it!)
Worked Up So Sexual (Chris Walla/Death Cab mix) - The Faint
Y Control (The Faint remix) - Yeah Yeah Yeahs

It's also been said that The Faint puts on one of the best live shows humanly possible, so I am uber-looking forward to seeing them this summer:

Speaking of Saddle Creek, I just wrote up a little tribute of producer/engineer and muscian Mike Mogis whose work with Jenny Lewis and Bright Eyes is pretty admirable.

Thanks for calling my photo "rad rad", though I do appreciate being asked before my work gets used. Thanks, Neil - dodgy rock'n'roll photography

"I do appreciate being asked before my work gets used."

Asked? She credited you. You do have your pictures on the internet for anyone to see. Says your name in the corner.

Dear Anonymous retard,

"Says your name in the corner."

Which means that it is willful infringement of a registered copyright in a commercial image. On Flickr and my web site it says "all rights reserved" which means it can not be reposted. And if I was feeling vindictive I could have Blogger take down the image immediately. Or sue for statuary damages.

Just because it's on the internet, does not mean that it's free.

Neil, I've gone ahead and taken that photo down. Sorry for giving your work some publicity there, didn't realize it would be such a problem.

Heather, I didn't ask you to take it down, and most often do give permission to any non-commercial site that asks. I do get angry at retards like the previous poster who assume that anything is up there can be taken.
