I AM FUEL, YOU ARE FRIENDS

Listen up everybody if you wanna take a chance

. . . Just get on the floor and do the New Kids dance. If you are a female born between 1977 and 1982-ish, you may have found yourself at one time picking your favorite New Kid to moon over (because they are sooooooo cute!), watching the Hangin' Tough live concert video at a slumber party, or asking for an NKOTB t-shirt for Christmas. Yes, I did all three of these things.

You will also probably agree with me that there is absolutely no need for a reunion, as is being rumored in the media today. Why? WHY?! The only result that can come from this is that someday soon I will find myself driving along and, without thinking, bust out singing "I get up in the mornin' and I see your face, girl." And then I will want to drive my car into a wall.

I was running my first record store in an old suburban mall when the second NKOTB came out. The mall had two record stores, one upstairs and mine downstairs. Both had huge lines that Tuesday. 20 minutes before the usual 10am open, I flung the gate up with a load crash, pushed through the crowd out into the mall and yelled upward, "Tape World's already open!" Luckily no one was hurt in the thunderous stampede down the stairs. It was amazing! Now it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside to know that some of those little girls grew up to have such good taste in music like you, Heather!

no..please..no reunion! they belong deep in the annals of nostalgia never to return. Because if we were to revisit that we may realize how lame we all actually were! :)

I really like their checkered vests and off the shoulder leather jackets. Ah, the days of being a NKOTB fan. The mullets, the synthesizers, the hats. It was all too much for my pubescent teenage self to take.

nothing wrong with a good pop song. They are no worse than any Jackson 5 tracks....Different decade...same music.....
I can say this as an adult...back in the day...NKOTB was nothing close to what I listened to..

My 10-year-old self cannot contain herself. Her 30-year-old self, however, wants to go back in time and shove a Pixies cassette in her Walkman.

I bet they wouldn't be quite as touch as they were before. 'Cause you know, they were real hooligans. I seem to recall some hotel trashing (probably after a moment of clarity about how bad they were.) You have to give them credit though as they did pave the road for future boy bands.

And I heard "Be My Valentine Girl" been playing on the radio in welcoming the Valentine and rumor of NKOTB come-back. I just said WOW to myself. After Spice Girls and NKOTB, maybe I'll hear Mili Vanilli returns in the future ...

Oh My G-d! I can't believe that New Kids On The Block is back together! NKOTB was one of my favorite bands when I was younger! They were so cute back then and now they are even hotter as men!
See more NKOTB stuff at www.NKOTBReunion.com ... Luv ya!
