Graham Coxon (formerly of Blur) vinyl contest

He can't look at your skin, 'cos it's doing him in. But as for me, I've got a sweet Graham Coxon double 7" vinyl for the taking.

It's got "I Can't Look At Your Skin" + "What's He Got" on the a-side and "Time For Heroes" and "Outta My League, Dear" on the b-side. Plus, there's fancy-pants packaging with all the artwork done by Graham himself. It's nice with the lightning bolts and all, but it could use a liger or two -- it's pretty much my favorite animal.

To win, leave me a comment telling me what the hell the lyrics are to Song 2. Actually, just kidding. Leave me any comment, one winner will be chosen randomly. We'll run it one week, through Wed, Feb 7.

i got introduced to blur via the FIFA 97 (video game) soundtrack. it was the opening song and i believe one of the pioneers of indie rock being used in mainstream media. now ads, tv dramas, etc all have unknown indie bands (see the OC or grey's anatomy list of bands which became big after)... its interested how what used to be selling out is now cool even.

My girlfriend is really into Blur and has slowly but surely indoctrinated me and brought them into my world. I like Graham's solo work too! I'm feeling hopeful about a Blur reunion this year...

I rememeber the last time I was in London with her we were wandering around Notting Hill and some guy walked past - he was quite skinny, wearing tight jeans and horn-rimmed glasses - and jokingly I turned to her and said 'that was Graham Coxon!'. She was thinking the same thing, though I don't think I was! One day though, one day we're going to wander around Camden and find him to give him a hug. You just wait...

P.S He looks a bit like a school teacher doesn't he? I can imagine him as the Demon Headmaster or something, eyes blazing behind the glasses and little kids trembling at the sight of 'the one who used to be in Blur'. Scary thought...

You're taking the fun
Out of everything
Making me run
When I don't want to think
You're taking the fun
Out of everything
I don't want to think at all

Wait, that There's No Other Way!

You know, there's like a butt-load of gangs at this school. This one gang kept wanting me to join 'cause I'm pretty good with a bo staff.

when Tuesday's school decided they needed a mascot we urged them to adopt the liger, to no avail.

Go Harborside Ligers!

And Coxon is a cutie, I adore that song of his "Bittersweet Bundle of Misery."

so You're pretty much one of the most awesome people ever since PJ's your fave band *mine too!* and you have awesome taste in music in general!
I take it you've already given Matt the Electrician and Susan Chamberlain a few lovely listens, since their songs are truly remarkable.

I've never won anything in my life, but I'll try anyway..

I've been obsessed with Graham for about 10 years, and it's great to see him finally get some of the recognition that he deserves! The only problem with loving someone who isn't terribly popular in the U.S. is it's hard to track down albums and singles (and they're so expensive), but that's still a small price to pay for musical genius!

Plus, and this isn't to kiss up (I swear!), your blog is fantastic! I'm a regular reader!

I spy in the night sky don't I
Phoebe Io Elara Leda Callisto Sinope
Janus Dione Portia so many moons
Quiet in the sky at night hot in the milky way
Outside in
Vega Capella Hadar Rigel Barnard's Star
Antares Aldebaran Altair Wolf 359
Betelgeuse sun sun sun

OK, so they're not Coxon lyrics, but vaguely relate - Blur, Far Out.

Very random lyrics but I often feel this way when I read your blog - a nosey bastard! Always read and never comment to express my gratitude....all of a sudden, a Coxon comp appears and hear I am! Better late than never I guess ;) Thank you! I'll make it a regular event now, promise..

Happy Friday Heather!
I've been lurking here for a while now and thought I'd finally comment and possibly win something. I'm digging your blog and really just wanted to say "Thanks for the downloads and great blog!"

The 'Mats rarities, the SubPop singles, I could go on and on....but I'll save that for another day :)

how did you like the put- out songs? are u going to post them? please do, as I am not technically competent enough to do a blog! johnbuck100@yahoo.com

Ever fallen in love with someone you shouldn't have fallen in love with?
Mr.Coxon knows that we know that he knows that love isnt just illegal, its downright criminal.
